Ask about a milk, soy, protein intolerance (MSPI) for short. A couple of babies I know of have had this and it is totally miserable. The fix is very expensive formula or eliminating a lot of foods from your diet for a while.

I don't know if this is it, but it's something to consider. I would consider this site at some point too if you need help. http://www.bestdoctors.com/corp/index.html

I saw them in Reader's Digest and also they get a lot of positive buzz on blogs.

I'm sorry but there is no chance whatsoever that sticking needles into your skin along imaginary 'meridian' lines to unblock magic cosmic life forces will do anything at all to help with your Tinnitus. You'll be throwing good money down the drain. You have been warned.

There are two types of tittinus. There's a permanent one and a mild one that goes away. Yours could possibly go away. The easiest way to get tittinus is to play loud music a lot and go to concerts. There is no cure for tittinus...you either have it or you don't. If you lie down in a quiet place and the ringing gets louder, it's probably permanent. You can wear a hearing aid to help, but it usually doesn't go away. If it's not permanent, it should be go away soon. It'd be better for you to tell your parents and doctor to get it checked -- s/he is the only person who can guarantee your status of tettinus. I'm 15 and I don't have it but my cousin got hers from going to a concert. Hers went away in about a month. I hope yours goes away, too! Good luck.

~ And don't forget to wear ear plugs if you go to another concert. Try to eat a lot of calcium to help it get better.

Doctors and surgeons reccomend various medications but the bottom line is, for most people, they simply do not work.
It may take several years but nearly everyone in the end ' comes to terms ' with the condition. After all theres not much choice.

Please don't think this is a flippant answer, but I suggest you hydrate yourself throughout each day with good drinking water. I've been reading a lot lately on the effects of dehydration compounding the negative effects of every condition out there and the relief that simple daily hydration has had for people suffering from a variety of illnesses/conditions.
I know, it sounds too good to be true but many conditions are helped immensely by simply drinking more water.
Start your day off with a tall glass of warm water, for instance, instead of coffee. If you love coffee, drink a weaker version and return to water throughout the day. Best to use filtered or bottle water from a pure spring like Crystal Geyser.
Why not give it a try? Nothing to lose and it might really help.

Ear was produces pressure in the ear and can reduce hearing. So it's good to have it cleaned out. A physician's office can do it easily, quickly, and painlessly. Ear was, however, it doesn't cause tinnitus.

Interesting experiment!

Hearing does tend to fail a bit at high frequencies as you get older but heck, your 14. You have a great many years ahead of you before your hearing might diminish.

Unfortunately waiting for your body to start failing isn't really a good solution. I imagine even if your ears themselves couldn't pick up high frequencies, your head might go on hearing the 18.5kHz.

There is a new technique called "Notched Music" which has frequencies removed (I think) that match your tinnitus. You should look into that - you already have worked out which frequency your tinnitus appears to be.

The best thing you can do is avoid alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, and asprin. Over-the-counter drugs are unlikely to work. If the problem persists, see a doctor. Could be Meniere's Disease or a host of other things, even something as simple as wax buildup in the ear canal.
