If the wax build up is too excessive, have your ears cleaned professionally by your doctor.

will my tinnitus go away?
i have concluded that it is around 18,500 hz because i used a tone generator with good headphones. i can hear above and below that frequency but i heard that as you get older you ears dont pick up sounds like that so will it go away?
im 14 and i have tinnitus
Interesting experiment!
Hearing does tend to fail a bit at high frequencies as you get older but heck, your 14. You have a great many years ahead of you before your hearing might diminish.
Unfortunately waiting for your body to start failing isn’t really a good solution. I imagine even if your ears themselves couldn’t pick up high frequencies, your head might go on hearing the 18.5kHz.
There is a new technique called “Notched Music” which has frequencies removed (I think) that match your tinnitus. You should look into that – you already have worked out which frequency your tinnitus appears to be.
Any relief for tinnitus that ANYONE knows about?
I asked this question exactly a year ago here now and only got two responses, both trying to sell me ebooks …
Here is the original question and I will add an update …
Any severe tinnitus sufferers out there that have found even SOME relief?
I have extreme tinnitus and doctors say that there is no cure (or I feel sometimes no proof that you hear anything) for it.
I have even had (at the suggestion of my GP who consulted who she said was a specialist in such) a CatScan on my brain looking for a particular deformity in certain SMALL areas of the brain that can cause this … with negative results.
I have a very HIGH pitched tone screaming constantly in my brain and a medium lower tone underlying it also constant (kind of making a chord)
I have had this for most of my life and am totally non-plussed that my GP has said that she has never heard of such.
Point being … it has decided that it is not loud enough and has been (admittedly at a very slow pace) getting louder and LOUDER!
When doctors throw their hands up … what do you do?
For addition information, I am 58 years old and worked in an EXTREMELY noisy factory in my early twenties. I have had two serious car accidents which I have walked away from almost unscathed but for head banging “superficial” injuries … one when I was on a bicycle and got T-boned and my head broke the windshield of the car.
To finish … do ANY of you out there know a solution to even relieve slightly my condition?
Thank you in advance and please do not post flippant responses to this question. It is VERY important to me.

Back to the present … I have had further tests including EEG during audio stimulation and others … with totally negative findings …
I have tried EXTREMELY expensive but thankfully free-trial hearing aids with a “white noise” type adjustable constant sound generator in them that only sounded like rushing water and when turned up loud enough so that it drowned out the whistling in my ears/head drowned out everything else too! It was like how you can hear a mosquito by your ear even when near a rushing waterfall. Unsuccessful to say the least …
… any other ideas out there ?
… thank you again in advance if you have any ideas or suggestions …

Please don’t think this is a flippant answer, but I suggest you hydrate yourself throughout each day with good drinking water. I’ve been reading a lot lately on the effects of dehydration compounding the negative effects of every condition out there and the relief that simple daily hydration has had for people suffering from a variety of illnesses/conditions.
I know, it sounds too good to be true but many conditions are helped immensely by simply drinking more water.
Start your day off with a tall glass of warm water, for instance, instead of coffee. If you love coffee, drink a weaker version and return to water throughout the day. Best to use filtered or bottle water from a pure spring like Crystal Geyser.
Why not give it a try? Nothing to lose and it might really help.
