Has anyone out there heard of or tried Neuromonics for treatment of tinnitus?
I have had ringing ears and sound sensitivity since June 09. Its cause could be contributed to several things. However, at this time there is no treatment available for my tinnitus. I recently read about a treatment called Neuromonics that is available at a nearby ENT clinic and is touted to bring good results for tinnitus suffererers and was wondering if anyone out there has had their tinnitus treated with Neuromonics and what the outcome was for them ? I know what Neuromonics is and how it works but would like to hear from someone who has actually used it and hear their results. Thanks!
The clinic that is offering this Neuromonics program is an ENT office at a reputable clinic and they are making people aware of it. Its also been FDA approved.
Has anyone out there actually tried the Neuromonics program and would like to give their opinion?
i personally went to a ENT specialist and have tried several tings before he told me they have conventions every year and all these things are scams…he said if there was a cure available don’t you think we would make people aware of it..the way I understand it is the small hair fibers picking up sound and they can’t grow or come back…all these i pod ear phone loud car sounds are future hearing loss recipients…i worked construction around sound all the time never thought anything about it..
Does the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment really work?
Thoughts? Experiences?
What is that. I have Tinnitus from a cholesteatoma. Noise is always constant. I ask the doc about the Tinnitus. Not much could be done that I’m aware.
Has anyone tried Neuromonics to treat their hearing loss (tinnitus)? Does it work?
The clinic i go to offers it but it is very expensive.
Neuromonics works, but is ridiculously expensive. As they have told you, currently the best treatment for tinnitus is sound based therapies. Neuromonics works by stimulating the brain cells that produce the ringing and quiets them down. Recently a company has developed a technology that can do this on the internet. This company’s system is based on work done by physicians at the University of California Irvine.
Basically, they figure out your tinnitus pitch and loudness, etc. and give you a sound file that you can download for therapy that is specific to your tinnitus. The therapy sound can be mixed with your own music using their system and you can listen to your own music while the sound therapy file is working in the background.
Herbal remedies have not been shown to be effective in good clinical studies. Sound therapies have are effective 80-90% of time, whereas herbal remedies have only been found to be as effective as sugar pills.
My dad used this system and has had significant relief and he didn’t have to shell out $5000 for Neuromonics.
